Twins, the Double Anointing

12-25-24 – Betsy – Twins dream, God's Christmas Present - The Double-Anointing

Note: Twice in my life I've heard the Lord say that it was the season of the double anointing. Both times, we found out within a few weeks that we were going to have twin grandbabies as a confirmation! (The twins were naturally conceived.) Then, both times, other twins in our church were being expected at the same time as our set of twins. So, I realized that God was offering the double anointing, not just to our family, but to our whole church.

The Dream -

I dreamed I had just given birth to twins.  Right after they were born, the hospital gave me little ear plugs to put in their ears.  I didn’t use them right away, but put them somewhere for safe keeping.

When it was time to take the twins home, the hospital nurse’s station required me to show them the ear plugs they had given me for the twins.  This was to ensure that the twins (double anointing) were mine, and did not belong to someone else.

I looked and looked in all the logical places, but couldn’t find the earplugs. I must have mislaid them. I began to wonder if the hospital could identify the twins as mine by some other way.  Why did it have to be by showing the ear plugs?  But they seemed insistent and wouldn't take any other form of ID except the earplugs to prove the twins were mine. The dream ended before I had found the earplugs, so the hospital had not let me take my twins home yet.

Thoughts –

Twins – Giving birth to the double anointing.  Ear plugs were required to receive the double anointing (the twins) because they were meant to protect that anointing (the twins) from the outside noise of the world.  The twins would only be able to hear God’s inner voice.  To receive the double anointing, the twins, we can’t listen to the world’s many voices and distractions or its false wisdom, but only the voice of God, which is heard when we are quiet and still. Let us be careful lest we birth the double anointing, but not be able to fully receive it because we listen to voices other than God's voice.

“My sheep hear My Voice, and the voice of another, they will not follow.”  John 10:27

And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to.”  Mark 4:24

More thoughts, 2-25-25 –

I was re-reading the story of Elisha and Elijah and the double anointing. Remember how in my dream, the hospital wouldn't let me receive the double anointing (twins) until I showed the earplugs for their ears?

Well, in the 2 Kings story, Elisha told the groups of prophets to be: SILENT, QUIET, STILL (those are some of the translations from the Strong's concordance for the word used).

That is so similar to having earplugs! So not only did Elisha have to follow, stay close to, and never let Elijah (a type of Holy Spirit) out of his sight, he also couldn't be distracted by listening to other voices or having lengthy, time-wasting conversations.  He had to stay laser-focused so that he wouldn't lose Elijah. That meant his eyes, his ears, his heart, his every movement must be perfectly dialed in to be in sync with Elijah's.
